Interview with Cat Rambo on Suite101. Science fiction writer, Clarion West graduate, and Armageddon MUD maven Cat Rambo has published an interview with me on Suite101. The interview mostly talks about promotional techniques I’ve been using to get the word out about Infoquake. Favorite quote: “I didn’t want any of the thriller clichés that you often see in business novels. I wanted to see if I could really write an exciting novel about marketing meetings and product launches.” Close runner-up: “You’re asking a guy who’s both a web programmer and a science fiction writer what kind of clothes he wears? You are brave.” (I should also point out that Cat has a piece in Sybil’s Garage #3, whose diligent editor/publisher Matthew Kressel I was fortunate enough to meet at ReaderCon last weekend.)- Library Journal Review. Library Journal had a brief review of Infoquake in its round-up of the latest science fiction. Money quote: “In web designer and programmer Edelman’s first novel, he moves quickly from scene to scene, building suspense with believable characters and in-the-know technical expertise.”
- B&N Calls Infoquake “One of the Most Impressive SF Debuts in Years.” Infoquake is scheduled to be the headline feature in next month’s Barnes & Noble Explorations newsletter, with a full-fledged review and interview with me by Paul Goat Allen. Here’s what Paul has to say, in part: “Brilliantly blending the cutthroat intrigues of the high-tech business world with revolutionary world building, Edelman could quite possibly be the illegitimate lovechild of Donald Trump and Vernor Vinge. Infoquake is one of the most impressive science fiction debuts to come along in years — highly recommended.”
- Short Brain Parade Interview on Meme Therapy. As a follow-up to my recent full interview with Meme Therapy, I was lucky enough to contribute to a couple of their Brain Parade round-ups. This past week, the Meme Therapists published my bit in their round-up on government and privacy called “Little Brother Is Watching.”
